Citizens on the Move wraps up second edition with glowing reviews
The second edition of our successful Citizens on the Move training programme has concluded, with glowing reviews from participants.
"I would recommend the Citizens on the Move Training to anyone who is wondering how they could improve life and promote positive change in their cities. You just invest your time and in turn get a lot of useful information and not only in theory, but also in practice, which is really helpful. The site visit and personal meeting with other colleagues is probably the best part - if you are lucky and have nice weather, you could enjoy bike riding in Rotterdam while discussing challenges the city is facing and changes it is going through that could be similar to what your city is dealing with. And the team behind the Citizens on the Move Training is a dreamteam :) They will do everything and beyond to make you feel comfortable and to create an inspiring environment for learning. Thank you again for everything."
The programme is designed to boost the capacities of city governments to engage with their citizens and other stakeholders on the sustainable mobility transition. Participants learn relevant methods and tools on how to involve citizens in their urban mobility projects, working with various experts to provide the best knowledge about citizen engagement. The training has a strong focus on practice and is highly interactive as all modules are workshop-style.
Designed for civil servants working in local and regional governments in Europe on topics of urban mobility (e.g., mobility departments, EU project offices, smart city departments, etc.), the course blends online and in-person training, covering modules on co-creation, storytelling, agile research methodologies and nudging.
Citizens on the Move has now trained a total of 41 civil servants from 24 cities in 12 European countries. Applications for the third edition of the training will open in April 2025, to take place in September.
You can find out more about the programme on the website, and you can register your interest to take part in 2025 here.
"I would like to thank you for organising this training. It's been a long time since I have participated in such a well-organised, well thought-out and structured programme. The colleagues were well prepared and focused. The training was practical, with exercises to be solved and interactive teamwork. It made me step out of my comfort zone and challenged me. It was enjoyable and I learnt a lot of new things, but I was always reminded that I had an objective that I had set myself and that I should focus on it. "
