Driving change: EIT Urban Mobility’s key contributions at the ITF Summit 2025 in Leipzig

EIT Urban Mobility will take an active role in the upcoming International Transport Forum’s (ITF) Annual Summit, the world’s largest gathering of transport ministers and a leading global event on transport policy. On Thursday, 22 May, the organisation will contribute to key discussions focused on building more liveable and equitable cities.  

Marc Rozendal, CEO of EIT Urban Mobility, will speak at the roundtable “Strategic Public Transport Funding: Delivering Sustainable and Equitable Mobility”, alongside ministers from Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Azerbaijan and Ireland. The session will explore how public investment can help transform transport systems to better serve both people and the planet. 

Later that day, EIT Urban Mobility will host the official side event “Learning from the Data: Recommendations to Reduce Non-Exhaust Emissions in Cities”, where it will present findings from a new study conducted in collaboration with Transport for London (TfL) and the Greater London Authority (GLA). Presented by Yoann Le Petit alongside our partners, Thought Leadership Manager at EIT Urban Mobility, the study sheds light on the growing impact of non-exhaust emissions – particles released from brake, tyre, and road surface wear – and provides clear, evidence-based recommendations for urban action.  

At the ITF 2025 Summit, the organisation will also showcase several promising ventures in its portfolio at the open-stage café “Innovative Mobility Solutions for Resilient Cities”. Startups selected for this session, Futurail and Switch, are developing practical tools and technologies to respond to emerging mobility challenges, from cleaner vehicles to smarter transport networks.
