Three EIT Urban Mobility innovators nominated for the 2025 EIT Awards
We are pleased to announce that three promising innovators supported by EIT Urban Mobility are official nominees of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology's (EIT) 2025 EIT Awards.
The EIT Awards recognise the most promising entrepreneurs and innovators emerging from the EIT's ecosystem across Europe. The nominees span from student to entrepreneur, from lab to market, and from idea to solution. This dynamic innovation approach creates a unique environment where nominees develop and scale innovative solutions to tackle pressing global challenges in the fields of climate, energy, digitalisation, food, health, manufacturing, raw materials, and, of course, urban mobility.
Three nominees are representing the EIT Urban Mobility ecosystem through their exceptional work towards sustainable urban mobility and more liveable urban spaces:
Hannah Hook has been nominated in the "Changemaker Award" category.
The Changemaker Award highlights the work of a leader within the EIT Community and beyond, whose activities and achievements have the potential to generate a significant social impact.
Hannah Hook, board member of the EIT Urban Mobility Alumni Network, developed a community-led workshop activity that invites underrepresented groups into the city planning process. It challenges dominant, car-centric planning models and promotes more welcoming urban spaces by weaving in important everyday wellbeing, safety, play and autonomy. The project was made possible through peer exchange, mentorship and feedback from the EIT Urban Mobility Doctoral Training Network (DTN).
"Joining the EIT Urban Mobility DTN during my PhD gave me more than access to resources – it also gave me a collaborative and international platform where I was able to shape my research in direct dialogue with practitioners, peers and policymakers," says Hannah.
IMPULSE has been nominated in the "Innovation Team Award" category.
The Innovation Team Award recognises collaborative endeavours with breakthrough potential that pioneer transformative products or services.
IMPULSE, based in Hungary, developed a new software tool to help public transport operators manage electric buses more easily and reliably. The software connects live battery data with schedules, GPS location and even real-time weather updates. It works with or without direct access to vehicle systems and can also get information from drivers if needed. The dispatcher, who plays a key role in keeping operations running smoothly, sees alerts and updated predictions in real time. "The EIT Urban Mobility community has played a key role in helping us develop IMPULSE and prepare it for international markets. The support we received covered many different areas: from expert advice and visibility to valuable connections and growth opportunities," the team says.
BEEV has been nominated in the "Venture Award" category.
“The Rocket-up programme offered us expert advice and access to partners that accelerated our growth. It helped us refine our business strategy and expand our network across Europe,” shared the Beev team.
The 2025 EIT Innovation Awards Ceremony will be held on 25 November in Budapest, Hungary.
